This is a very small family group. Frederick, the founder, was born in London and arrived ca 1890 and married Ethelda Keith. It is not known if this family has any living male descendants in the USA, but might have living Parrott relatives in England.

  • 1. Frederick A. Parrott was born on 17 Nov 1865 in London, England and died on 30 Oct 1938 in Bedford, Lawrence Co., Indiana at age 72.

    General Notes: S/o Parrott and Anna Parrott

    Frederick married Ethelda F. Keith on 9 Jul 1891 in Jeffersonville, Clark Co., Indiana. Ethelda was born in 1866 in Petersburg, Pike Co., Indiana and died on 23 Aug 1942 in Mitchell, Lawrence Co., Indiana at age 76.

    General Notes: Mrs. Ethelda Parrott, widow of Fred Parrott, died Sunday morning at the Greenwell nursing home, rural route 3, Mitchell. Funeral services will be held at the Clements mortuary in Mitchell, Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. The remains will lie in state at the funeral home.

    Mrs. Parrott was a native of Petersburg where she was born in 1866. She was married in early womanhood to Fred Parrott and they came to Mitchell to make their home. Edwards Parrott of Pittsburg, California and Emmons Parrott, of Mitchell, are sons of the deceased. Five grandchildren also survive.

    General Notes: Emmons Parrott 716 Frank street, Mitchell, died at 2:15 a.m. Sunday, at his home.

    He was born Dec. 12, 1893 in Mitchell to Fred and Ethelda Keith Parrott. Mr. Parrott had barbered in the same location in Mitchell for 55 years. He married Bessie Hill on April 11, 1917 and she survives.

    Other survivors include three sons, Leo of Indianapolis, Elmo of San Diego, California and Emmons Jr., of San Pedro, Calif.; two daughters, Miss Violet Ruth Parrott, at home, and Mrs. Mary Janette Ornared of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren.

    He was a membrer of the First Baptist Church in Mitchell and a member of the Barbers Union.

    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Haverly Mortuary in Mitchell with Rev. Walter Booher officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery.

    The body will lie in state at the Haverly Mortuary, where friends may call after 6 p.m. today.

    William married Myrtle Deloris Royer on 20 May 1941 in Washington Co., Indiana. Myrtle was born on 29 Mar 1921 in French Lick, Orange Co., Indiana and died on 15 Aug 2016 in San Diego Co., California at age 95. {FGID: 169106916}

    Marriage Notes: The marriage of Miss Myrtle Deloris Royer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Royer of French Lick to William Elmo Parrott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmons Praortt (sic) of Mitchell took place Tuesday, May 20, at Washington, Indiana.

    Mrs. Parrott was graduated from the French Lick high school and is now cashier at a French Lick theater.

    Mr. Parortt (sic) was graduted from Mitchell high school in 1937. He is employed as a painter at the Burford & Company in Indianapolis

    Mrs. Parrott will join Mr. Parrott in Indianapolis in the near future.

    General Notes: The Bronze Star has been awarded Private First Class (then Private) Emmons Parrott, 35704931, Infantry, 10th Infantry Regiment, United States Army son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmons Parrott of Mitchell, for distinctive service in connection with military operations aganst (sic) the enemy during the period of September 27 to October 26, 1944, in France. During a critical period when when (sic) coordination between units was of the highest importance, Private Parrott, a platoon runner, was frequently entrusted with relaying of vital information from his commander to commanders of supporting elements. Private Parrott also accompanied patrols on dangerous missions through enemy lines in order to gather and transmit their findings which enabled his superiors to plan and launch offensives against the enemy. Private Parrott's courage and skill played a leading part in the successful accomplishmetn of these tasks and his conduct throughout this crucial period was exemplary. Throughout the intelligent rendition of his manifold tasks, Private Parrott contributed greately (sic) to the success of his unit.

    General Notes: COCOA BEACH - Leo Parrott, 81, a retired civil service acting post engineer, died Friday, Sept. 24, at home.

    Mr. Parrott came to Brevard County in 1979 from Indianapolis, where he was born. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

    Survivors include his son, Fred Parrott of Palm Harbor; brothers, Elmo Parrott of San Diego and Buster Parrott of Los Angeles; sisters, Violet Parrott and Mary Parrott, both of Indiana; two grandchildren; and two great-granchildren.

    No calling hours are scheduled.

    General Notes: Parrott \endash Violet Parrott of Sebree, KY, formerly of Mitchell, IN, died Monday, January 31, 2000, in Sebree. Born on September 28, 1919, in Mitchell, IN, she was the daughter of Emmons and Bessie (Hill) Parrott.

    Surviving are one son, Bradley Parrott of Henderson, KY; two brothers, Elmo Parrott of La Mesa, CA, and Emmons "Buster" Parrott of Los Angeles, CA; one sister, Mary Jeanette Omarod of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother.

    She retired from Essex in Orleans and also had worked at Spring Mill State Park Inn and was a beautician. She was a member of the Mitchell First Baptist Church.

    Services for Violet Parrott will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 3rd, at the Haverly Mortuary with the Rev. Robert Kirkman officiating. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until the service time Thursday at the mortuary.
